Can’t Play because you hurt?

Don’t Play because you are frustrated?

Your game falls apart at the 16th hole?

Loss of Power, Consistency, and Distance?

Golf PHYX TM
will get you back to your game!

Contact CHC Physical Therapy to schedule the initial Swing Evaluation.  At this visit, Movement Faults are evaluated. The Movement Faults focused on are not related to technique but to the lack of movement that affects the technique. Lack of movement that is blamed on aging, arthritis, an injury, poor balance, joint or back pain in most cases can be identified and treated.

Even without symptoms, Movement Faults cause Swing Faults.

With the correction of Movement Faults… Swing Faults can be addressed.

Alignment Matters to Achieve:

Full movement potential; To Treat and Prevent Back Pain; For an Effective Address Position

hole in 3

Mid Back/Upper Back

To achieve full potential turn radius at the spine; essential for consistent movement and power.

hole in 4

Forward Head Posture

This posture inhibits turn radius. The golfer attempts to lengthen backswing with more arm movement, too many variables!

hole in 5

Shoulders, Elbow, and Wrists

Lack of movement limits back swing. Attempts to generate power results in arm pain.

hole in 6

Hips

Loss of full hip movement changes everything from the initial contact with the ball, throughout the swing.

hole in 7

Knees and Ankles

Full knee extension is needed for stability and pain free rotation on the weight bearing knee. The ankle has to flex for the body weight to move over the weight bearing foot.

hole in 8

Balance

Good balance anchors the weight bearing foot to the ground for consistency and power.

Myths about Pain and Performance

  • Many people think that painful movement is a consequence of aging. This is a myth.
  • People assume that because a doctor or image led to a diagnosis of arthritis, even "bone on bone" joint changes, that pain and loss of the ability to do an activity are inevitable. In most cases, this is just not true.
  • People believe that following a sports injury, a diagnosis of arthritis, or an accident, that pain is an inevitable part of daily life. It doesn't have to be that way!
