CHC Physical Therapist Runs Boston Marathon 2014

May 21, 2014

Jim LaMastra, DPT ran the Boston Marathon this year, and for the last several years, with his 75 year old father, Salvatore.  They stayed together for the first time ever and will talk about the memory for the rest of their lives!

The two pictures on the right were taken on the Newton Hills where grown men (and women) are often brought to tears.  They survived and recovered for a quick finishing photo on the left.

Following the Boston Marathon, Jim raced the American Triple T in the Shawnee State Forest on May 16-18th.  The event consisted of 4 triathlon races in 3 days totaling a few miles longer than an Ironman.  Jim and his USProTri teammate, Ryan Bates, placed a very hard fought 2nd place in the team competition.  Next up for Jim are a couple of his favorite local races before heading to Atlantic City in late June for his first professional ironman distance race of 2014.

Jim heading into transition prior to the events final race, 70.3 miles of pain in sub 40 degree temps.

"I thought I was going to get a hip replacement. The orthopedic surgeon said I had arthritis. You alleviated the pain that I had! You guys are the best!"
