Knee pain caused by arthritis does not have to keep you from walking around the golf course or up and down the steps

Actually arthritic knee pain can be treated and resolved without knee replacement surgery It is common now for an orthopedic surgeon to tell their patient to come back and see him in one to two years for a knee replacement without even trying more conservative treatment.  This was unheard of years ago.  The fact is, no matter how advanced the arthritis is, significant reduction in pain and total restoration of function can be accomplished without joint replacement.  Of course, the longer the arthritic knee is allowed to degenerate without the appropriate exercise, the more the pain will increase.  Physical Therapists know the appropriate movement.  It is not the same for each person.   Physical Therapists spend six to eight years in college learning about the mechanics of the body.  Come see us at CHC Physical Therapy.  You could be walking around the block or the golf course, pain free, every day this summer.  We specialize in Neuro-Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy.  With most insurance companies a doctor’s order is not necessary to go to physical therapy.
