I own and operate CHC Physical Therapy. This is a free standing private physical therapy practice in Fairview Park..
I am a specialist in the treatment of neck and back pain, and I am credentialed in “Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment of the Spine”, from the McKenzie Institute.
During my 30 years in the physical therapy profession I have acquired expertise treating geriatric patients. I am adept at addressing women’s health issues with an emphasis on osteoporosis.
I believe that the goal of physical therapy is not only to restore painless function, but also to empower the patient to avoid recurrent pain. When the patient understands the principle of treatment and is independently capable of addressing recurrent problems, I then feel I have done my job.
I have extensive expertise in the treatment of joint pain of mechanical origin such as pain from osteoarthritis. Moving the painful joint in the correct direction, with the appropriate force and frequency, can significantly reduce or abolish joint pain, often in a short time. As correct direction, force and frequency of movement will determine effectiveness of exercise, incorrect exercise can actually contribute to pain.
“Pain medication may help you get through periods of severe pain, but it won’t always help you eliminate the underlying causes such as poor posture and joint alignment, weak and/or inflexible muscles or tight joint structures that actually exacerbate the painful condition.” -APTA Pre. Ben F. Massey, Jr., PT, MA
“If exercise could be packed into a pill, it would be the single most widely prescribed and beneficial medication in the nation.” - Robert Butler
