Functional Capacity Evaluations

func_cap
CHC Physical Therapy provides Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE's).

The FCE is an intensive short term evaluation. The FCE collects reliable information on the patient's current vocational status and estimates the patient's potential vocational status. It determines physical abilities, work tolerance and level of effort. It establishes goals for rehabilitation, and will document maximal medical improvement. The Philosophy for an FCE addresses five hierarchical components:

  • Safety
  • Reliability
  • Validity
  • Practicality
  • Utility

newfunc2All types of patients can receive a FCE: workman's compensation, vocational training. Personal injury, and long term disability.

CHC Physical Therapy provides quick and timely reports, which are typed. They include a three page summary, a Job Match Worksheet and a detailed report. The longer detailed report is organized with a table of contents.

The exams can range between 2 to 6 hours in length depending on testing specifications from the referral source.
